The Burning Times.
Here is a chance to really discuss an important and interesting idea.
The Church committed unspeakable atrocities against humankind in the form of the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and subsequent witch hunts and trials. An enormous number of innocent people were tortured and put to death in the name of a deity, just for their personal cultural practices and beliefs. Similar things still occur today around the world in the form of genocide and other horrible crimes against humanity.
Are the Burning Times over?
Can our kind survive a seemingly constant trend towards hatred?
And what of the future of humanity? Can morality exist when even the writers of doctrine are corrupt?

User Titles.
Members should remember that as a reward for sending out invites, there are special user title rewards. You can send staff a request for user titles if you meet the requirements. The rewards and requirements for the titles can be found HERE.
Plagiarism Poll.
The results of the plagiarism poll so far are very interesting. To remind you of the topic, the question is:-
“If someone lifts an idea from someone else, or is inspired by another persons work, is it stealing? What are the boundaries of intellectual property? Is it limited only to those who have patents on their ideas? or does it go deeper than that? So the question is;
What constitutes "stealing" when it comes to ideas?”
Many people have voiced their opinion on the subject. SatansSoldier01 has said that it is only stealing if the person has a copyright on the idea/work. ErynTheDamned and rgerwolds both agree that only if the work is identical in every way can it be considered stealing and that if it weren’t for artists/writers/musicians drawing inspiration from outside sources, then a lot of work would not exist. Copyright and plagiarism are very different and it is important not to get the two mixed up. If something is copyrighted, then faithful reproduction of the work is not only stealing, but illegal.

Games.
Corrupt a wish is still going strong and the corruptions are most amusing! Props goes out to Legion4LIFE for the most amusing corruption so far!!! Here is something that is very drastic. Not really a game, not really a discussion, but very interesting. What you do is write a letter to someone, something or nothing in particular.
"It can be as long or short, as serious or silly as you like, just post it."

Competitions
There are two competitions this month, both with different prizes. The Poetry competition has a premium prize; the Art competition has a user title prize. General Posting.
Eighth_Plague_Legion staff encourages all members to be active and to post new subjects. They love to approve posts. It is the highlight of their job as staff, to be the first person to view new subjects. One of the wonderful things about Eighth_Plague_Legion is that there are no activity requirements for general members, but the staff loves it when you are active and posting. Be a good friend to your hard working staff members and post as much as you can!
